This toy does a great job of getting my 14 month old baby's attention. Although he's not quite ready to learn phonetics, he's drawn to colors, lights, and sounds. So far it's held up well (it's been about 2 months and tends to be stepped on), with no crashes. " comes out more like "ol" and that's what happened right out of the box.) I usually go through all his toys before he picks them up to go through them, so I know it doesn't happen , because it got corrupted) Everything else works fine, and I like that this book also teaches numbers.
