I expected more from the purchase, but not the worst option.

The issues that have been described above are ones that I probably would not have noticed if it were not for a buddy of mine who has a SONY a580. Nonetheless, the cost of each of these devices falls within the same price bracket. P. S. And just to confirm, if you are already using this gadget, you should under no circumstances use it with the 18-55 lens. There is a lack of light. The focus is off, the blur is distracting, and the ratio of the aperture to the focal length is awful. Many advantages: There are quite a few different functional modes that will make it possible for beginners to snap images and "look" at the various settings at the same time. One advantage for newcomers is the customizable graphic settings. At first, the picture of the aperture proved to be quite helpful. The battery will last for up to four days if you snap images without using the flash. Despite the fact that this is not really a praiseworthy quality. Having this drawback: The RAW file format cannot be read by the Adobe Photoshop Lightroom program. From this format, it is difficult to make any edits. When compared with the SONY a580, the rate of fire is noticeably lower, and even on the same SONY in the "live view" mode, when you change the shutter speed and aperture settings, you can immediately see on the screen what the picture will be, which is not in the Nikon 5100
