Yonico Drawer Front Hinge Router 15133 is an amazing router at an amazing price. The bat arrived within two business days of my order. The cutter was wrapped in a few layers of corrugated cardboard, sealed tightly with tape. The plastic bag covering the bits barely holds it and certainly isn't meant to protect it. I inspected the drill and found no damage to the cut surfaces or edges. Before I installed the racquet, I did quite a bit of research on racquet tuning. The rotary speed of the router, the height of the chisel and the depth of the fence were all I had to answer. Router speed was pretty straight forward. The chisel is a 2 inch diameter chisel. Page 15 of the Bosch 1617EVS user manual states that for "non-ferrous metals, oversized bits and cutting tools" dial settings 1, 2 or 3 should be used (8,000, 13,500 and 16,500 rpm respectively). PrecisionBits.com (http://www.precisionbits.com/drawer-front-router-bit-reversible-yonico-15133.html) states that 1" to 2" diameter cutters run at 18,000 RPM to 22,000 RPM I settled on a conservative dial setting of about 3.5, which equates to about 19,250 RPM. For bit rate information, refer to your router's user manual. On the Lee Valley Tools website I came across a set of instructions for setting the router bits. I used their bit setting guide for small drawer locks (http://www.leevalley.com/US/html/16j7672ie.pdf) and adjusted it to match the bit height and bit depth to the thickness of the drawer wood. Box, taking into account the larger drill diameter. The final setup proved very similar to what was suggested in the manual, aligning the center of the project blank with the center of the tapered cutting profile on the drill. Obviously, due to the larger diameter of the Yonico cutter, the stop is a little further from the center of the cutter than shown in the pictures, but the effect is the same. I am using a Bosch 1617EVS mounted on a Bosch RA1171 table. When I felt that the RPM, depth and height were about right for me, I ran a few mahogany-trimmed test pieces. The cuts were clean and since I didn't use a support block originally, some tearing was to be expected. Then I checked the cuts on the Baltic birch plywood as if it were the side of a box. The cuts were nice and clean and when using the support block the cut was crisp. I cut the matching drawer and checked the fit; nice and tight with near perfect alignment. I made a few micro adjustments to the depth of the fence and cut the pieces to get successful results. I then used a piece of scrap oak to create the mounting block. Please note that if possible, create a zero-distance fence specifically for this bit. If you have a split fence with a large hole in the top, such as B. with a Bosch RA1171 table, the top layer of Baltic birch laminate flakes off. Also, consider adjusting the cutter speed and feed rate so that the bit takes smaller bites, but not so slowly that you risk burning yourself. Also note that this drill bit is ideal for 1/2" or 3/4" due to the depth of the router bit. - Customs warehouse; The depth of the cutters will weaken or penetrate thinner material. I have purchased many Yonico Bits including the Yonico 14705 6 Bearings Set, the Yonico 17702 70 Bit Set, the Yonico 13171 Round Edge Router, the Yonico 14522 5 Bit Straight/Dado Router Bit Set and many more. All of these bits perform well, cut cleanly and stand up to medium-term use. Properly configured, used, maintained and stored, Yonico bits are a great deal. Thank you Yonico!
