I bought this cable with Samsung 850 EVO 500GB 2.5" SATA III Internal SSD Samsung 850 EVO 500GB 2.5" SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-75E500B/AM) and it connected to my Verizon DVR. The power from the USB was enough to run the SSD, so I didn't have to buy a separate drive enclosure with a power supply. I just left the drive behind the DVR open and it works great (no heat issues). To add a drive, do the following: 1. Access the DVR.2 menu. Select Turn on more storage.3. Then select "Enable external hard drive (eSATA)”.4. Connect this cable to the SATA drive and USB port on the back of the DVR.5. Click OK to activate. I highly recommend this cable! By the way, the DVR is lightning fast thanks to the SSD drive, which is perfect for FF and REW!
