This costume fits my 4 year old daughter perfectly and she loves wearing it. In Minnesota, the lake water is cold in the early part of summer, and this wetsuit will keep her body warm as she swims and plays in the water. Very difficult to put on and take off but all wetsuits are like that. I really have to help her get it down and back up when she needs to go to the bathroom, but that's to be expected from any wetsuit. I love that it protects her skin from the sun, shells, rocks etc and makes her feel comfortable in the water. It does not contain a buoyancy device and is not designed to increase buoyancy. We love the gender neutral blue of it and it was great to find something that wasn't pink/purple and wasn't overtly "boy" with trucks or sharks on it. Everything seems to be gendered lately and this is a great costume that can be used for both boys and girls.
