Review on Franklin Brass FBSCRH5 TDG C Gunmetal Assembly: Durable and Stylish by Mike Morris

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great looks and grip

I love the patina on these hooks, they work well in my kitchen in a pre 1900's house that mixes new and old features. The darker color has an aged iron look to match the age of the home, while the lighter accents reflect the stainless steel elements in the space. They basically look like they've always been there. The screw heads have the same patinated finish so they mate well once installed. The construction is solid, I pulled them after the installation was complete and they didn't move at all. The scroll design allows two items to be hung, and the bottom hook can be reached while the top cover stays in place. A few things to note for your application: 1) The screws are quite long (1.5") which matches the thickness of my door. Because the screw heads lie slightly flat against the top of the panel, they don't drill at all, but if you install on a thinner door you might run into trouble. Since the patina is so unique, I don't think it would be possible to simply replace the screws, although the black heads might be less noticeable. 2) If you need to use an electric screwdriver, you may need longer screwdriver bits because the screw holes are near the hook. This is good because they are very unobtrusive afterwards, but made the installation a little more difficult than I planned. size is what I wanted). I submitted the Revain fix with photos so it may be correct now. The measurements I have given are 3.375 inches top to bottom, panel width 1.5 inches, 2.5 inches from wall to extreme point.
