Better than you think but not as good as you want

UPDATE Thorin replaced the jack handle with no problems. It should be noted that hydraulic lifting systems only work as intended. The bottle jack must stand upright. Since it is not a delivered cargo tied to a pallet; Shipping and handling turns the box in all directions. The product is easily damaged by bouncing, throwing, falling off the conveyor belt and falling. Just as I received a broken box with a missing handle, I also received jacks with leaking oil. It is very important to bleed the hydraulic system, fill it to the correct level and check for leaks. Look at the user manual. The product manual actually has a section on how to troubleshoot common issues that other users are complaining about. If the body of the main jack is not punctured, all other parts of this jack can be replaced. Spare parts are readily available. You can own this tool forever if you maintain it properly and rebuild it with new parts as needed. 2 of 3 jacks ordered arrived with missing parts and leaking hydraulic fluid. It's not ideal. The best way to purchase this or any other jack is from a store where you can physically check that all parts are included and not leaking. ****************** ******************************** ************************ ************************ * * ****************************** ***** Most roadside assistance calls are related to locks, jump starts and flat tires . Some companies are now sending out "service trucks" to do just those 3 things, in addition to selling you fuel when you're about to run out of gas and only sending a tow truck when needed. For me, this tool is just right. Short enough to be hit by many cars, trucks and vans. Strong enough to safely support cars even when jacking up the axle. The compact size takes up less space in cubic inches. Repairable so air can be deflated and hydraulic fluid added and as Torin is a well known and respected brand parts are available. You can literally order any part on this jack and rebuild and repair new seals if needed. In the automotive industry, every car is unique. do you lift the car What is your ground clearance? Is the piston stroke enough for what you are doing? Does it fit under your car? Will it reach the axle, suspension parts, transmission or frame rails if you lengthen the extension bolt and saddle? Even the smallest 2 ton bottle jack lifts a corner of every car on the street today. 12 tons is 24,000 pounds. This jack will work on a medium duty truck with a gross vehicle weight rating of 20,000 lbs. Be sure to use a slotted bushing pad for welds on one-piece bodies. Let's just say I have an 8 inch clearance car. What is the ground clearance with a flat tire? Can this jack be inserted under the jack point or frame rail after lowering the car from a flat tire? The extension screw adds about 3 inches. The ram flies about 4 inches. Whatever your calculations, you will actually only get 4 inches of lift. Do not be afraid. Most vehicles are equipped with a scissor jack. You can always raise the car 4 inches, place it on an extended scissor jack, lower the jack, raise the extension bolt, and then jack it up if needed. Now raise the scissor jack enough that the weight of the car is supported by both the scissor jack and this hydraulic jack. With any luck, your scissor jack will act as a jack and support the car, if something happens to the scissor jack or that hydraulic jack, the car will still be supported and you won't be crushed. Anyone who has used a scissor jack knows there's a lot It takes strength, the handle slips and most of the time you scratch your joints And most people just don't trust scissor jacks for the stability itself. Obvious support for your car with a jack. Use this hydraulic jack to raise your vehicle. Support your car on a jack. Obviously in most cars you can't always carry all your tools around and have the right tool for every job. At home where all my tools are I would use a jack and stand. In my Jeep & Trucks I carry a tool box, a hi-lift jack, jack stands and a bottle jack. Not this short model but a full size bottle jack and in trucks and vans even a floor jack if space allows. A bottle jack won't be the ultimate solution, but it's pretty handy for on-the-go repairs. In the car I like to use this jack to get the car high enough off the ground to use the Powerbuilt 640912 All-In-One 3-Tone. Bottle Jack With Jack It's almost silly to use a jack just to get it high enough to use another jack. And try to put some tools in the trunk of this car. It's worth it. Something like this can make all the difference when you're stuck at the side of the road: a 258-piece, 3-drawer mechanical tool set. The handle was missing. I have contacted Thorin and am still awaiting a reply. I had to wipe up all the spilled hydraulic fluid, inspect the seals, bleed and top up oil to the correct level. Is this how you want your jack to be shipped?
