Good headset but didn't last as expected

I enjoyed using this headset last year. I use it almost every day at work for conference calls. I listened to music from time to time. I especially like using it on my business trips when I'm on a plane or at the airport to make phone calls, listen to music and watch TV. Got lots of compliments on how beautiful they look. Unfortunately, after a year of happy use, the fabric covering the cups came loose at the seam. The material is black on the outside and red on the inside. At the point where they connect, they separate completely, releasing the foam inside. So a nice expensive headset now looks like an inferior product. To make matters worse, the black material is now starting to peel off, so now when I use the headset it peels off my entire shirt. I wouldn't mind continuing to use the headset as I still appreciate its specs, but the headphones have become a nuisance. I would like to replace the ear pads but they don't seem to be replaceable. That's a big disappointment for a headset I dropped for $250 just a year ago. Had I known this would be a problem I probably wouldn't have bought them. Plantronics needs to make a more durable product, or at least provide replacement ear pads.
