Review on 🚴 MEILAN C3 Bluetooth Speed and Cadence Sensor: 2-in-1 Wireless Speed and Cadence Sensor for Bike Computer, Apps, and Zwift by Todd Phillips

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy to install, works well

The main advantage of the Meilan C3 is that it offers both cadence and speed in one device, unlike some other products that only offer one or the other, so You need to buy 2 units if you want both. Installation was easy and it didn't take long to Bluetooth pair with Zwift on my iPad. I haven't tested the accuracy, but I can't imagine it's that bad. The speed sensor and magnet on the wheel spoke were much closer than expected. In my setup it was about 2mm so I don't think there should be any missed pulses. The cadence sensor and magnet on the crank were about 1.3cm apart, which was still within spec. To check if pulses are missing from the cadence channel, you can monitor the cadence and speed readings to see if they are increasing and decreasing in sync. I haven't watched mine closely, but at least they were pacing together. I use this bike indoors when my bike is attached to a stationary trainer so I don't know if it's suitable for outdoor use. Due to the processing quality and the low weight, it should at least be suitable for road traffic. For rough terrain with muddy puddles, all bets are off. But then again, off-road driving still doesn't give you time to test your speed. Your focus should be 100% on following your path and staying at the top of your game.
