Review on Punk Embroidered Applique Iron Patch by Amber Perez

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Use it on heavy duty cotton fabrics, the reverse side isn't impressive.

I was going to use this for a sweater but after the model I decided it didn't look right; Instead, I put it on my favorite big bag. This turned out to be a wise choice as the slick backing isn't great and I don't think it will hold up in the wash. I very rarely (read: never...because yeah, I'm just a punk rocker) wash this bag, so I'm not expecting too much trouble. But for the band-aid to stick properly, it needed more heat than usual, the highest temperature my iron could reach. And putting a towel between layers like I always do when putting on patches was useless. After the 4th firing I finally got it to stick. My bag is made of thick canvas to withstand such extreme temperatures; my synthetic sweater couldn't handle it. So choose carefully! I'd sew it on, but it's a pretty thick patch and I wasn't in the mood to find the right needle...because I'm too punk rock again to put in any effort, even if it's ironic. Verdict: It's a few bucks more expensive than it should be compared to the quality, but it's decently stitched in a clear and easy-to-read font, it's not overly stiff and totally inflexible like some cheap patches, and the size makes it practical for different types of clothing and accessories...but beware because the base material is mediocre at best.
