When you buy these fans you will receive: - 2 fans pictured, rated at 12V 0.6A. - 1 fancy fan. , rated at 12V 0.18A. - Dry thermal paste with cardboard particles in it (because they are stored outdoors in a cardboard box) on all three. Two real fans generate bearing noise. One makes a small, intermittent noise while the other makes a constant and very loud noise. The two cooler types use different aluminum construction in terms of diameter and number of cutouts/fins. The interesting thing is that the thermal sync, which I shouldn't have gotten, is actually the best (for noise) lol. It makes no noise and works very well, but I can't imagine that a 0.18A fan would compete well with a 0.6A fan in terms of air movement. So I think it's still a loss. If you're using them to cool CPUs you might need to do some tweaking to get them running quietly or at all - one of the little boxes that housed the thermal synchro's was squashed, although the big Amazon box were all came in, was perfectly fine. Edit: 24 hours later The fans ran almost the entire 24 hours. Somehow the bearing noise has disappeared. Now they all work stably and without unusual noises. I think they needed a break-in period. I had to put a tiny RTV dot on the madman's aluminum because it wasn't very tight in its mount which made a rattling noise, but it's fine now. I would give this 5 stars if they sent me all the right fans but oh well. Even with a weird fan it still works! I will say that I still stand by wiping the old dried compound and replacing it with a new one. Just looking at the new thermal paste makes it clear that the old paste that came with the kit is rubbish.
