Indiglo (light) stopped working within 8 weeks

I bought this watch 2 months ago (July 23, 2017) and 2 weeks ago the indiglo function (illuminates the dial) stopped working. This lighting feature is important to me because I run early in the morning when it's dark and it allows me to see the time and run splits. I just got off the phone with Timex customer service and need to send my watch to Timex for repair which cost me $8 and takes 2-4 weeks. Watches that stop working properly within 8 weeks of purchase must be replaced by the manufacturer. I've bought countless Timex Ironman watches for women, probably from 1990. Usually, after a few years, the straps break or the battery dies (neither of which are easy to replace - either find spare straps or the battery and also have the necessary screwdriver), and sometimes the light stops working and I assume that I will buy a new watch in such situations. But I don't expect any problems with a two month old watch. And I certainly don't expect to go 2-4 weeks without a watch and pay $8 for it.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • May damage
