It was fairly easy to put together, although the instructions were a bit lacking. Personally, I'd welcome color-coded screws, or at least separate packages of color-coded screws, to make assembly easier, but overall this is just a minor complaint. I've collected a lot of Ikea furniture so it was about their par. I agree with others, this chair has an odor. I hope it wears off soon as it smells like my office and the closest smell I can think of right now is latex paint? It's quite durable and definitely doesn't smell like leather, so I doubt it's real leather. I took off a star because there are no height adjustment instructions, I'm quite short (5'2) but I don't seem to have the height adjusted properly. The metal bar in the middle is supposed to be adjustable but I couldn't even move it easily so I played around with the bottom bar where you have 3 different holes to choose from but none of them feel "just right" to me. Currently happy with my purchase, but due to the price, the smell, and the lack of instructions on how to adjust the seat height and how to position yourself and the chair "properly" (I researched online to find out), I did deducted a star. I recommend it to anyone who doesn't want to use a conventional chair because of back problems, but doesn't want to sit on a giant ball when working. At least it looks like it belongs to the office.
