Review on 🔍 TetraPond Replacement Pre-Filter Foam for Tetra Water Garden Pump, 1-Inch Diameter (Model: 46798190172) by Kelli Palmer

I received this pre-filter to cut and use in my 5.5 gallon top fin freshwater aquarium. We recently had an issue with 2 neon tetras and a ghost shrimp getting stuck in the feeder. My Top Fin tank doesn't have an adjustable water flow regulator and it has enough power to occasionally suck up pebbles. Searching the web, there have been many suggestions of using foam, mesh, or even tights around the air intake. Some people have suggested using a pond pre-filter as it doesn't restrict flow at all. This pre-filter is huge and I should have no problem cutting 4-5 pre-filters out of it. It's easy to cut it and then put scissors in the middle to widen the hole for the inlet pipe. Once it was above the intake I cut off a piece of the pre-filter on the sides to make it rounder. After that I cut off part of the bottom but left enough to cover this hole. That should give our neon tetras and ghost shrimp a chance. I will update this review if we continue to have issues or find negative points.
