Worried about scary reviews? Boil it a few hours before use and keep it moist.

My cherry shrimp and Endler livebearers love this thing. The biggest challenge though is being with my rooster because I want him to have a den to hide in and this seemed like the best compromise between utility and aesthetic value. scared. But then I cooked the hell thing, which also came out of a lot of tannins, good or bad, from where you sit. If every piece of hardscape ends up in the aquarium, you should. - what, or soak a couple of weeks. I'm not sure everyone considers this hardscape because it's supposed to be more volatile, but ultimately it's driftwood like a big spider web or whatever you may have. So I cooked it for a few hours. After that time he stopped swimming (tried for a few hours) and was very, very soft. Soft enough that after it cooled and before I put it in the aquarium, I turned it in my hands and ripped off pieces that looked sharp, enlarging the holes that seemed just right for a fish to get stuck in the open. It didn't look like play dough, but it had a lot of curves and some of them were easy to change without tools. There were some natural traits that I had previously worried about that I was able to easily eliminate as the process progressed. It wasn't difficult, so I suggest taking this sensible piece of wood with full character and just spending a little time making sure it's safe before putting it in the tank.
