I used to use corn on the cob litter for my birds but now I switched to walnut litter. It absorbs odors very well, is easy to clean and easy to vacuum up if something goes wrong. My only complaint is that you can't use standard cat litter scoops to clean it (especially if you have small birds like budgies). because the holes in the shovel are too big. I recently purchased a Zilla Reptile Terrarium Bedding Substrate Litter Cleaner Corner Scoop which has smaller holes than the standard scoop and does a pretty good job of removing most of the droppings from the litter.
