Review on 🚶 Rirether Adjustable Height Carbon Fiber Walking Cane for Men & Women – Ergonomic Handle, Fancy Design, with Carrying Bag and 2 Tips by July Sin

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It’s a decent cane with a lot going for it, but not perfect

Both my wife and I agree, this Rirether Walking Cane for Men & Women, Adjustable Height Carbon Fiber Cane has a lot going for it, but it’s not perfect and would be our second choice if pressed. Both athletes, my wife and I have had our share of injuries. Among these, last year she severely broke her foot, requiring her to be off it for 4 months, then use a knee stroller, then cane as she regained her muscle tone. I’ve had several sever sprains and tore four ligaments in my ankle at one point. Since my injuries as well as hers, we have both on occasion needed to use a cane for short periods when we’ve tweaked something. To that end, I always keep a cane around the house. The one we have was one I inherited from my folks - a very cool wood one with antler handle. It’s heavier, it’s solid and sturdy, and it’s taught us what we want and do not want in a cane. But why would two mid-age GenXers want canes around? As I already stated, we can retweak things that cause us pain and it helps to have a cane handy. After she broke her foot and while recovering, I also tore my hamstring, which meant we were limited on the cane front. go figure. So I though having a back up would help. I also thought that having one that was collapsable would allow us to keep one in the car - just in case. I’d sprained an ankle while out once and it would have been helpful to be able to grab a cane from the car that day. My parents taught me to be ready in many eventualities.So. when I had the chance to grab this Rirether Walking Cane for Men & Women, Adjustable Height Carbon Fiber Cane I took it. At present - when pressed - it would become the back up to the wood cane mentioned above. I also was able to get another cane, and we both agree, that one would become our backup - this Rirether Walking Cane for Men & Women, Adjustable Height Carbon Fiber Cane is good, decent, but it’s got a few lesser elements that put it in third place for us.1. It arrives with a nice bag in which you can store or carry the cane. This is a great addition and one the other cane we tried does not have. For a cane that can be reduced in size for carrying, this is a nice bonus to be included.2. This Rirether Walking Cane for Men & Women, Adjustable Height Carbon Fiber Cane also comes with a backup tip - in case you need to replace it. This too is a great bonus and again, not something we’ve found in the other cane we tried - nor with the one we have. Keeping in mind tips can break, grow worn out, or lost, having a back up is a great idea!3. This Rirether Walking Cane for Men & Women, Adjustable Height Carbon Fiber Cane is adjustable and can be lengthened or shortened to whatever you need. This is the first CON we have on this cane. While the PRO is that it can be adjusted at a subtle level to make it "exact” to what you may need, the process by which you tighten it is just complicated enough that we found ourselves "loosing” the most "subtle” level adjustment to this process - meaning it should let us do it to a fine degree, but lost some of that adjustment to movement when setting it in place.4. Another CON for us is the handle. While it looks nice - the wood is attractive - we both found that the handle feels too thin for us. When gripping and applying pressure to the cane for support, we both found ourselves shaking bit and not being able to feel secure in the grip or that it would withstand the pressure we have needed in the past when relying on a cane. It just does not feel like either of us are comfortable with holding what feels very thin to us and does not give either of us a grip we feel secure in.5. The handle, besides being thin, it hard. Yes, it is wood and wood is a hard substance, but this feels HARD. Thin, small, and hard equate to both os us as uncomfortable. Neither of us liked the feel as compared to our original and the other cane we are trying. This firmly places this one in third place.6. The Rirether Walking Cane for Men & Women, Adjustable Height Carbon Fiber Cane is very light. Due to the Carbon fiber, one can be assured, if you need a cane that is very light and not a burden in that way, this cane is ideal. We both agree, this is an extremely lightweight cane. That said, it threw us in that it almost feel "too light,” as if it can’t withstand the weight of a person. But we are sure it can - that it’s not an issue - just feels that way. But that said, because of the thinness of the handle and the discomfort we each had, it caused us both to "shake” and not be able to hold it in a way that made us feel "secure’ when applying a lot of pressure to it. It’s not "dangerous” in way that we worry, but that made us each uncomfortable and unsure. Again, we’d use it, but place it into third place for preference. In the end, we cannot and do not completely "fault” this Rirether Walking Cane for Men & Women, Adjustable Height Carbon Fiber Cane, but we cannot give it 5 stars, preferring 4 and feeling that is a fair rating. It states that this is a usable cane and one we may get use out of, but that would not be our #1 go-to choice. Easily our third out of three canes. Still something to keep around, but not the first we’d grab.
