This item is everything I hoped it would be. I installed them on the double doors of the French style closet at the entrance to my bathroom. They replaced the spring-loaded ball detents that make too much noise and disrupt my sleep during my husband's frequent late-night trips to the bathroom. I used to know exactly how many times my spouse got up at night to go to the bathroom, but now I have no idea. life change? May be. After all, sleep is important. I chose the PLS-24 PRO over the standard version because I was concerned the air conditioning flow would force the doors in and that's not even remotely an issue. The magnets generate a lot of force and the doors don't move. I also installed PF10PK foam pads (not included) in the door frame at the point of contact with the door. They're not entirely silent, but with a little care and effort, closing the doors can eliminate the noise, but at least it's a thud and not wood on wood. Installation was more difficult than I expected as I drilled 15/16" holes on site using an Irwin Tools Speedbor Max bit (similar to a spade bit). The drill worked great for drilling 15/16 inch recessed holes in the door and frame, but the pilot drill made a hole. too big and too deep for the screw magnet to fix the magnet to my satisfaction. So after my magnet holes were drilled I used a 15/64" drill bit to drill a pilot hole made with a speedbor and then drove a 1/4" dowel into the hole with wood glue. Then I drilled a small pilot hole for the magnet screw through the dowel and installed the magnets. It may have worked without fixing the dowels, but I wanted to be sure the magnets were securely attached and the screws weren't pulling out. Highly recommended!
