Review on Enhanced Jobu Design Jr.3 Deluxe Gimbal Kit inclusive of HM-J3D Swing-Arm by Vera Lewis

This is a really smooth gimbal. I only have one complaint and I can't install my 5dmiii with an extra battery grip. When installed, it rubs against the swivel arm and thus prevents flush mounting. Another thing to note is that if you're tracking moving objects like airplanes, birds in flight, or anything else that requires you to change the vertical field of view by more than 20º, you'll be redirected to the attachment. This can be solved by adding some padding to the mount, but this changes your center of gravity, which affects the points of articulation and makes it a bit uncomfortable. There's a 3-step adjustment to the position of the mount that allows for slight height adjustments, but again, best performance is achieved when it's low and centered. I use a Swiss adjustable camber plate, which offers just enough forward adjustment to eliminate this problem, but again, it's no longer at its best midpoint for balance, control, and effortless support. A great product with some limiting aspects but when used with a standard body and you don't need a lot of buoyancy in your shooting technique it works well.
