When I first bought this collar I didn't realize it looked different from the picture, now I see it. It came off easily at first, which was fine as my ITSY is active and I wanted to make sure it was secure if it got stuck on the collar. Received new tags for my boys yesterday and attempted to remove the ITSI collar to replace the tag. Somehow the collar got stuck since the last time I took it off and I couldn't take it off at all! I ended up breaking it to take it off! I'm so upset that my cat was in danger unbeknownst to me because if it got caught on anything it would probably choke! From now on I will regularly test the tear-off function on my other coastal collars. I would have preferred if they were easy to open and not close! Although I bought this collar a while ago I wanted to warn you. Simply because it is easy to remove. It must not be new!
