Blue silicone part scratches easily. I use this with water on a flat surface and store accordingly. When using a squeegee, pieces of silicone should not fall off. I'm not sure if this is a defective part, but it's mostly junk. I use squeegees for my side business and have been using them for over 20 years. My silicone wiper has never started to crumble.
