Worked well for the first month of ownership, no intermittent problems so far. Moving on to the end of the year, now my headphones crackle and hiss when no sound is playing. Also, it's very rare for the adapter to stop working and Windows to warn that the device isn't recognized, but a little fiddling and a reboot temporarily fixed the problem. The quality of the microphone is as expected, but I noticed something when recording in Audacity. The first picture comes from the adapter. If I just turn off the mic, the audio cuts out for a split second. This makes it difficult to understand some conversations that are missing a word or syllable of a word. Again, I'm not sure if that's what it's designed for. The second picture is my external microphone. Despite the built-in noise reduction feature, turning it off will not mute the microphone. Needless to say, this is a great alternative if your electronics don't have a headphone jack and all-in-one USB combo.
