Review on ISi Stainless Siphon Bottle Silver by Kelly Noonan

I read the instructions first before buying and also read the ratings and other recommendations in order to get the best quality with this sparkling water. I followed the instructions exactly, including overfilling the siphon. Anyway, I've used it for a month (about 20 times) with little success - followed all directions as well as Revain's recommendations (cool water and container first, shake 15 times after fumigation, etc.). The carbonated water comes out when it works, at best slightly carbonated (e.g. half as much as bottled mineral water or soda stream). It burns very quickly, in just a few hours. The bottled soda lasts the night and is still carbonated, just like soda stream. The metering nozzle lets gas through about 50% of the time when the jack is loaded. This happens no matter how fast you unscrew the carbonator or how tight the lid is. Last night I went topping up - filled the siphon about 3/4 full with cold tap water and screwed the cap on tight. Loaded the cartridge with CO2 and again it took about 50% of the gas. I then squeezed the dispenser lightly to measure how much gas had actually entered and it barely hissed. I then loaded another cartridge (rather than wasting another whole cartridge on a leaking siphon) and that cartridge created so much CO2 pressure that the stainless steel base bulged, effectively destroying the siphon. When it wasn't precipitating, it produced only slightly carbonated water.
