I bought casual shoes from Jousen because my tops just couldn't handle them. I love the concept of topsiders, dress them up and beat the hell out of them. But in my new job as a substitute teacher, I have to stand and walk around and mind students all day. My old shoes just killed my feet. I'm older too, I'm 59. I was at this store in Los Angeles where they make these shoes to order and I had dreams of buying a pair. But now I'm making less and can't justify the price. Josen's alternative looked great. I checked everything I could. I wanted something comfortable, not like running shoes. I ended up ordering a size 14 as I'm about 13.5 and even the 13 in sneakers is killing my feet. Thirteen would probably work with this strain. The shoes are quite wide. But I love shoes. I wear them every day. And my feet never hurt.
