With my old laptop dying due to age, I spent some time looking for affordable replacement options. I chose the Samsung Galaxy Book Ion 15 for a number of reasons. The only downsides were the lack of RAM and low storage space. Both are upgradeable in the 15" model, so I ordered upgrades for both at the same time as the laptop. When I opened the case to install new updates, I found that the screw for attaching the second NVMe drive wasn't working was there. After watching a video of others installing a new drive in the same laptop, as well as seeing photos of the process, I realized that this screw should definitely be there.I contacted Samsung support, but I was told i had the option of either ordering the screw from their parts supplier (at my expense) or sending the entire unit in for service This laptop is needed to replace a now broken laptop that is being used for work i have spent 2 days without while the new laptop was being shipped. I can't afford to ship the laptop away for who knows how long and meanwhile just no work to do. Nor do I have to pay for the mistakes made on site where this laptop was assembled. To add further insult to injury, I noticed a smudge on the screen when there was a light background. At first I thought it was a Grain of dust on the screen or something. It cannot be erased. It wasn't even on the screen. It's under the screen. It doesn't look like a dead pixel. Maybe dust got under the glass during assembly? Whatever the reason, it's there. And of course, now that I know it's there, that's all I can see. So after almost $1500 for the laptop and its upgrades I expected to be happy with my new work laptop for years to come. Instead, I deeply regret my expensive, low quality purchase that I can't afford to return. I'm stuck with this. Samsung's quality let me down and their own support team chose to drop a new customer rather than fix the situation. I expected better.
