On the recommendation of my kettle company I bought this product hoping to remove rust and limescale build up in a stainless steel kettle. Before trying the kettle on, I poured BKF powder into my stainless steel pan, which actually worked very well - most of the rust spots were gone and the pan was clean and shiny. It also cleaned my porcelain sink well. However, the attempt on the teapot was unsuccessful - it did not remove any rust or scale even after the powder had been left there for a further 10 minutes. I think the product works well on fresh rust/stain/deposit but not old ones. One thing that frustrated me is that the jars don't have a lid or lid. Once opened I have to put the whole jar in a ziploc bag to keep the powder from sticking together.
