Review on Garmin Mount Quick Release Quarter by John Koch

OEM Replacement/Part

What can I say, this is an OEM replacement/part and does exactly what it's supposed to do. I just wish they would make taller versions because I really like mounting it on the diner for a nice clean look. But my mountain bikes have a shorter stem and taller head tube, so there isn't enough room between the tubular head tube and the handlebars for the mount to sit flush with the stem. And the Garmin is pushed out through the chimney when installed, pulling the mount away from the stem. If they just made a version that was a few millimeters taller, that wouldn't be a problem (unless you had a very long chimney!). I know I can just cut my steerer tube so that the top cap is flush with the stem, but I'm reluctant to do so because I'll be moving the fork to another bike later and will need that length of steerer tube. But I actually shortened my steerer by a few millimeters so I can mount it on the stem and not the handlebars!
