Smells like chemistry!
I bought these to put on the bottom of a wooden tray I made. To help move hot cans from the tin can to the counter across the kitchen. As the boxes that come with the jars only last so long. However, they smelled terribly of chemicals. I'm sure they could be placed on chairs, bedside tables and coffee tables. But I had no intention of using them in my kitchen with anything intended for moving food. Food can potentially come into contact with them. And I won't risk it. I sent them back immediately.
