Review on Jabra Elite Wireless Canceling Headset by Jeff Gopala

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Too smart for her own good.

Pros:• Comfortable enough to wear all day• Battery lasts for several days• Robust build quality• Intuitive hardware controls• Great ANC (while running) • Good sound qualityPoor: • Listening modes and moments can only be controlled via the mobile app (no desktop app, no reaction to the hardware listening mode button when only connected to a computer) • The app doesn't recognize the headphones half the time, you does one, the other, or both need to be restarted • Why is listen through mode needed and why is it the default when using a microphone? I answered the call at the coffee shop and instead of hearing the ringing, I heard the espresso machine and the surrounding screams in my ears. Failed to upgrade to ANC because I was using my computer. I had to hang up and redial the number from the phone. • Very buggy when multiple devices were connected - changing listening mode, randomly pausing playback, skipping • Ear detection works about 50% of the time (seems like a useless feature anyway, just press pause). )• SmartSound needs location data to work• Buzzed once and restarted while listening - still don't know why Bottom line: I wish with these headphones I could turn on ANC all the time on all my devices and never have to open it again. I'm sure someone would appreciate all of these software bells and whistles, but in my experience they just get in the way of using reliable hardware.

Pros
  • BLOCKING UNWANTED BACKGROUND NOISE: Jabra Elite 85h wireless headphones are engineered for the best wireless call and music listening experience with SmartSound technology; Intelligent active noise cancellation reacts to the environment and turns on when background noise is detected
