After almost four weeks of use, my Sanyo hd700 is a proven device. In general, this camcorder is in no way inferior in terms of image quality and start-up speed. You must read and try all the settings. You won't get a feel for what this device has to offer without doing your homework. That excludes 90 percent of the stupid people who buy things and they'll never be happy. Pros: - FAST startup - There is a setting for everything and shortcuts allow for quick installation - Battery life is decent enough, around 45-50. minutes - Controls are well thought out and easy to find after a little practice - Rugged enough to carry in your pocket - Clear footage even with fast movement - 8GB chip delivers around 4000 5.3MP 16x9 images or more than 7 hours of video in average quality :- accessing the cover is a blunder to open it - the lens cover sucks completely, needs a latch on the side of the device - the highest video settings only play well with the best computers, playback is skipped, DON' T FUCK, DVD is gone after burning - Constant user attention for best results, read and play with the book. Enough said, I'm buying a second HD700 for my sister. She also liked the device and was happy about the videos and photos from the basketball game. This also prevents blurry images. Buy a 6 inch pocket tripod, this camcorder will not stand up on its own.
