The finish this leaves on 4140 is incredible. What's even more surprising is the speed at which this hogs out metal when needed too. My rinky dink Enco 6x36 (1.5hp), which is not the tightest machine ever, puts out an immaculate surface with no stepover over a 6 in surface (proper tramming required).I honestly thought this was going to be a 1 run and done tool, but it ran through this massive job (literally pounds of chips on the floor) without having to turn the included inserts. This is now my go to face cutter and will never use the APKT one again. That thing bangs so much, and it's even a 5 insert cutter. I'm pleased to say that although this has 4 inserts, it cuts so much smoother and quieter with noticeably less BANGing due to the 45 degree cutting edge.Pleasure to use.It seemed to work well with most any feed rate but I ran my machine around 900-1100 rpm (if the chart is correct) and anywhere from 0.005" - 0.050" DOC. Seems like it could handle more but my machine is not suited for it.
