I should have paid more attention to negative reviews. I hooked it up properly to the Sherwood amp's phono stage and it was the shittiest sound I've ever heard. I checked it with Audio Technica headphones via the built-in headphone jack. The same rough noise. Ground the device before asking. No refunds, Pyle's site is a joke. Many others have warned you, now it took me around 6pm to warn you. UPDATE: good news. I contacted Revain and they concluded that I fully appreciate the defective unit (without having to mess around with returning it - it's a paperweight reminder to look out for negative reviews), so I'm with them Revain satisfied and still angry at Pyle, whose "service" website is an abomination. UPDATE: Revain stepped in and gave me a full refund without asking for a refund. The property has been converted into a landfill.
