06/06/2021 - no, I was wrong, the blue light is intermittent. Not sure why he does it. Thought it was a loose SCSI cable but now I'm using it with a USB 3 cable so still confused by that blue light. But otherwise the hard drive works perfectly. 03/22/2021. Now the blue indicator doesn't work anymore, but the hard drive is ok. Very good external hard drive. I got it for storage capacity and SCSI connection but am glad it also has USB3. Not too loud. I did notice the disconnection issue mentioned in other reviews, but found that the cable didn't have the best connection and hitting the computer caused the disconnection. No touch, no problem. Used to save family videos from an old camcorder. Works perfectly.
