This is an extension of the short question posted above. My unit plays both DVDs and VCRs well. no problem. I can't seem to get it to record from my LG TV (via HDMI) to VCR or DVD. I downloaded the user manual in .pdf format and am following it, but I can't write anything down. Any suggestions (please answer the question box above)? Update September 2018 I solved my VCR recording problem by connecting an RCA cable (red, white, yellow) from my DVR to the Sanyo IN jacks. By switching my TV to the "VCR/DVD" setting with Sanyo set to VCR and DVR on and recording selected, I can view and control the recording with the DVR controller and then use the controller to record what's on the VHS tape is displayed /DVD. A little cumbersome, but works great. I then convert the VHS recording to a digital file (Magix Video Easy Rescue Your Videotapes) and then to MP4 files (Magix Video Easy 4HD) and either save them as such or burn them to DVD (Xilisoft DVD Creator). Awkward again, but I saved a lot of videos that I wouldn't otherwise have. Many Thanks.
