I live in a 61 year old two story house with no stair lights. I also have three cats who love cutting my legs walking up and down the stairs which means the stairs are the most likely place I will find my death! These lights are perfect! I have twelve steps and only had to place three of these lights in the stairwell. Each light comes on when climbing stairs and stays on for about 20 seconds. The glue is surprisingly strong, so make sure it's exactly where you want it before you press it! I bought another set for my basement steps which are even darker. Cats love these lights because they light up when they go down to the litter box. It took me a while to get used to this because when I went to bed and fell asleep I saw a light in the stairwell and I had a second of "OMG who's in the house?" before remembering the light LOL ! So remember, if you have pets, turn on the lights! I strongly recommend them! I'm buying a third set for my elderly neighbor who gets up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom but hates using hallway night lights that stay on and keep her awake.
