Grounds you in both realities.

loved it and couldn't wait to get it. However, when I put them on for the first time, they didn't impress me. Some people already make fun of all the wires to get tangled in, and that's on top of that. The wires don't line up with the headset cord, so the headset cord comes out the back while the headphone cords hang straight down. Put them in the right position. However, they do not move there during use. My first impression of the sound was on the main screen and I was concerned. Compared to in-ear headphones, the difference was stark. I could blow my fan, run the A/C, and hear dogs barking outside, but I could barely hear the ambient music or the sound effects on the main screen. As much as I loved the idea, I thought I had to return it. I thought I had to keep putting them in my ears to hear properly. I tried the game and was relieved to find the audio was MUCH better when playing. Sure, the sound can't compare to noise-cancelling headphones, but they work great. Headphones are not cheap in sound and quality is not lost. It's just not as focused and loud as through the ear. Your ears don't get hot in them and you hardly notice they're there. If you get lost in the virtual world and don't want to be distracted by background noise, they probably aren't for you. I actually prefer to hear what's going on around me. I can't tell you how many times I thought I'd sense the presence of someone entering the room or walking by while immersed in the earphones, only to pop the visor open and realize I was the The only one there was a praying mantis, I'm fine, I hear what's happening in virtual space and at the same time I'm aware of my physical surroundings. There are some flaws, but this is a good addition to PSVR and I'm happy with it.
