So, after about a week of massive failures and endless tutorial videos, I've successfully destroyed a couple of my knives. I've spent hours and two fingertips leather trying to get a decent sharpness with these stones but I can only scratch my knives and actually make some of them WORSE than when I started. 400 does basically nothing for a damaged edge and only serves to leave scratches on it no matter how long you use it. 1000 grit will not produce burrs. The 6000, on the other hand, polishes the blade so you can clearly see all your flaws. I don't have enough experience to understand that there is something wrong with the stones, but at the moment buying them was a waste of time.
