Review on 🏑 Enhance Imaginative Play with the Versatile Melissa & Doug Wooden Stable Dollhouse by Chris Jens

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Suitable for 5 inch horses like Schleich

Well done. Ideal for 4" to 5" horses such as Schleich horses. After reading other reviews on this item I wasn't sure if I would buy it along with the Schleich horses I've already bought. It turns out that they are a good match. In fact, the horses that come with the set are exactly the same size as the Schleich horses. Okay, here (and the photos I've included) is some information I'd like before I make the jump. The idea of a horse in a stable is not exactly what a western child would like to see in a horse. See photos. But the ones we received stood up well and the plastic is a bit rubbery so they don't seem to break easily. The horses on the LEFT in the photos belong to the stables. The horses on the RIGHT are Schleich brands that I bought separately in the store. You can clearly see the difference in quality and style. Stables: The doors in front of the stalls open with a rubber band, and the stall doors slide back and forth easily. duplex. The hayloft is of course shorter. Has openings for unloading hay for horses. Sturdy knobs and a beautifully painted roof. There is no clasp or lock to secure the carry end. Long straight loop at the other end to open. Good quality raw wood - some inside edges may be slightly rough for very sensitive hands but light sanding will smooth this out quickly. Extras: The wooden staircase is beautiful, well built. Hay bales - painted wooden blocks. The fenceβ€”an ingenious collapsible wooden fenceβ€”is so securely attached I can't tell if nails, pins, or screws were used. Good job to everyone who came up with this design. So this is my unsolicited review. Just things I wish I knew before purchasing this item for my 7 year old grandson.
