These boots are well made but not effective on my Havanese. They are difficult to put on due to the zipper and dog hair, and they fall in the snow even when the velcro is pulled as tight as possible. I'm giving them 4 stars because they seem durable, with a rubber sole, sheepskin trim, zip and velcro closure, they just didn't fit me. I found myself catching them in the snow and they were hard to find in the dark. They may work well for other types of dogs, but make sure you measure them correctly. I have an XS for a Havanese and not sure if it's the right size considering how it works on it. At least it has some protection for some very cold days (0F and below). When I go outside, I just wish I hadn't wasted money. I was later recommended to check out the much simpler design of sled dog boots on dogbooties.com, but haven't received them yet to compare.
