After some trial and error I got it to work perfectly. I didn't use the included 3.5mm cable, so I had to replace the 3.5mm cable to allow the other end to fit into the cable box cable when connected to it. In this case, set up your TV and headphones (so while the headphones are on and waiting for the bluetooth to connect and they always have sound, all you have to do is turn the TV volume down completely or turn it off. My TV only has a USB so I have the device that expands the USB slot this transmitter is plugged into and it still works great.
