I needed to clean excess oil from my daughter's engine. After installing the hoses according to the instructions (which are very simple), no oil was pumped. I checked the hose which should have been an outlet and there was suction instead of positive pressure. This was quickly remedied by changing the hoses and voila, the oil pumped out fine. It's a bit slow, but it worked just as well as you'd expect for the price. It is particularly convenient to use car battery power. No need to use an extension cord or buy 4 D batteries like other pumps. I definitely recommend this one, just make sure the direction of flow is correct before sticking the hose into the oil.
