Review on Universal Compact Bench Power Supply Tools & Equipment - Garage & Shop by Tim Wilske

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good workmanship - good price

I have been a CB and HAM radio operator for over 40 years. I've used several power supplies, from the big ones (35A) to the ones you buy at the radio store to power a 4W CB. I needed one that would work effectively with a 20w transceiver. This amp is rated at 70 watts. You should never drive a power supply beyond half of its rated limit. It cools it down and extends its lifespan indefinitely. It also gives you plenty of headroom when whistling into a mic or otherwise expanding your transceiver's capabilities. What I can say is that this is a well built power supply. Runs cool and quiet. For a radio amateur or hobbyist who needs to run something that draws 30 watts or less, this is a great little device.
