This power supply is a bargain, especially for the price. Works perfect for me. I use it to run an oil change pump. Works great.

I use this with my FT-818ND transceiver when I'm working from home. It does exactly what I need it to do: power my radio. One complaint: there's no ground or chassis ground terminal, and the plug is two-pronged, not three-pronged.

I needed a power supply for my Icom R8500 because the warts on the wall didn't save it. I saw it on Revain and got solid reviews. The next day I got (I gotta love Prime) my R8500 hooked up to it and booted it up. My radio requires a 2.5 amp power supply, that's 5 amps and holds voltage and amps without hesitation. The device is small and compact enough that it doesn't take up much space. If you need a power supply that only draws a few amps, this is for you!

I have been a CB and HAM radio operator for over 40 years. I've used several power supplies, from the big ones (35A) to the ones you buy at the radio store to power a 4W CB. I needed one that would work effectively with a 20w transceiver. This amp is rated at 70 watts. You should never drive a power supply beyond half of its rated limit. I bought a power supply from Pyramid Bench (PS7KX) to power a LEDMO LED strip kit. I figured a 12V 5A would easily power the LEDs. I installed the lights and plugged in the power and everything worked as expected. About the 30th minute the light went out, apparently the power supply overheated. After cooling, the lamps re-ignited and continued the cycle on and off as this power supply heats up and cools down. In my opinion. This is a very bad power supply. As with other Revain reviewers, this PSU does not "have" a fan as advertised. This, I think, starts the problem. During use, I couldn't get it to work reliably with currents in excess of 0.6 amps. Even at only 0.6 amps, the device was almost hot (you could smell it) at the rear heatsink/power transistor and the back of the case. The readings fluctuate and the device eventually shuts down at high temperatures. It wasn't long in coming. I would not…
