2 Year Update. After 2+ years on my truck, the damper is still running as smoothly as the day I installed it. It makes it so easy to lower that heavy liftgate. Original rating. My 2019 F150 XLT has a liftgate step. I like the functionality of this step. But man! this movement makes the tailgate heavy! Installing this damper makes it easier to lower the tailgate. Squeeze the latch and let it fall. No falls. No knock. The hardest part of the whole installation process is removing the tailgate and reinstalling it. Just ask a friend to help with this. After that, everything else is an easy job. You will need your own T50 Torx bit and a heavy duty ratchet. Take your time pulling the signal light assembly straight out, wiggling it slightly. I highly recommend this shock absorber, both for its functionality and for the fact that once installed it is invisible. It's worth the higher price.
