While I haven't used them long enough to appreciate their durability, they appear to be well constructed from durable materials. I appreciate their simplicity and the ability to wear them over shoes instead of putting them on before you put your shoes on. The width at the bottom is a little narrow at 7 1/2 inches, but it adequately covers the top of my low-cut sneakers, mid-to-high boots. The stretch upper measures 4 1/2" and stretches up to 6" to fit over the calf. The lashing straps are not very comfortable and wear out after fifteen kilometers. It's better to throw them away entirely and replace them with recycled laces from an old pair of shoes. Just thread the string through the two holes. Pass the laces under the arch of the foot and then pull them up and over the foot using a butterfly over the instep. I've found that this type of low leg gaiter has served me well in the past for everything except powder and its lightness. very appreciated.
