These connectors provide welcome relief from the stress associated with installing wire nuts correctly, only to discover a wire is not properly fastened is . I always check the connections after I've made them, and those connections always seem really solid. If you pull *hard* on the cable while rotating it, it will pop out of the connector, meaning you can disconnect and reassemble if needed. Reading this I understand that they should not be used for high current connections as over time they do not have enough contact area for that much current. But for lighting etc. they work great. I have seen several wire nuts installed by licensed electricians loosen enough to fall off and this is a real fire hazard. They work on stranded wire, but vice versa. only if you tin the wire beforehand. It's actually not that heavy and it will really stop wearing out.
