Review on πŸ—ΊοΈ Enhanced Navigation Experience with the TomTom Universal Dashboard Mount – Compatible with All GPS Brands by Jacob Rasmussen

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works for larger GPS devices - good quality.

No problem so far - even with a large (7 inch) sat nav this mount keeps it in place even during sudden stops or sharp turns. It's fairly unobtrusive and doesn't take up too much space on the dashboard, it's a minor issue, it seems to work fine with my Magellan GPS. To be honest I like the Garmin system a bit more (no bean bag style suction cups) but they seem to be the only major manufacturer using this style so a good universal suction cup mount is the best option if you don't ( or in some states) can't mount to a windshield - I live in a state where you can, but I don't like leaving obvious "GPS rings" on the glass where it would catch the attention of thieves looking for a quick bill and ruining my day for a GPS they're getting about $25 for anyway. I "give" one star because of the material on the underside of the bindings - it's not as "sticky" as other brands. On a smooth stroke (mine is textured) I could see that this mount can slip during sharp maneuvers. The other two positives here are that it is not 'branded' which means there is no real indication that this is a 'tom tom' mount printed on the front or sides, and the suction cup surface is big enough for every suction cup i have used. seen, if anything, it might be a little over the size. I put the plastic cover back on the suction pad when not using the mount to keep it clean.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • So far so good
