Looks decent, enough gain for my purposes.
I don't really hear a difference in sound here, but pics of the speakers are literally cheaper than the preamp. YMMV This *gives* you a ton of amplification and adds volume, bass, and treble controls. The dials are nice and clicky. It also looks neat, not too expensive for the privilege. The only thing that really annoys me is that there is a ridiculous LED on the PSU that is absurdly bright, and PSUs don't need LEDs anyway. I covered it with plumber.
