Instructions are not clear at all. The recipes are more understandable but I really didn't want to stick to the recipes so I didn't think to look at them initially until I got frustrated with the instructions and started looking for more clarity. The device is crooked. It says pour some water on the ground, but all the water flowed into a corner. So I added lots of water to lightly cover all the corners. Then, of course, there was deep water in one corner. The handle was terribly hot. It wasn't meant to be and there was no warning! I wasn't ready for that and burned my hand. My first 9 were burned from the top before they were finished from the bottom. Of course I didn't know they were unfinished at the bottom until I tried to pull them out and they broke up into small liquid bits. I tried to fix this in the second batch by leaving the top open and letting it cook from the bottom. When the lid is open, however, it rests heavily and tilts back very easily. When I got to my 4th batch I found out, but until then I was literally not doing anything as directed. I love ready-made egg bites, but I think it would be easier for me to find an equally good option without using this device at all.
