These shoes are narrower than regular shoes, so people with wide feet need longer laces. I usually wear wide feet because I have wide feet. If I don't find the shoe I want in the right size, I take half a size too big. For example, I wear a US size 9.5 Wide or US 10 Regular. So for these Scarpas I bought a size 43 which is a US size 10. However, when I tried these shoes on, the first thing I noticed was that they were too tight. Luckily, these Scarpas are laced to the toe, so you can find a more comfortable fit even if you have a wide foot by simply adjusting the tightness of the lacing. Although you can grossly adjust wide shoes by loosening the laces, doing so will leave you with laces that end up being too short to double-knot and barely long enough to tie a bow at least once. So if you have wide feet and want this shoe to work properly, you will need to invest more money in longer laces. I think size 43 has 160cm laces; So I have to try to find 180cm laces to get these shoes right. They were priced too high for buyers not to be made aware of this possibility in advance.
